Hi Rise Hive
Joanne Thomas is the first female urban beekeeper to keep honey bee hives on rooftops in Manhattan. Since 2004! Her Upper East Side honeybees feast on nectar from plants in world-famous Central Park, where there are 174 species of blossoming trees and thousands of flower varieties. And, the Park’s plants grow chemical-free. The thousands of nectar sources available to the bees create a uniquely light, fresh flavor. Hi Rise Hive honey has been praised by gourmets, foodies, and featured in the media. When Joanne harvests her honey, beeswax is left behind. Nothing is wasted. She uses the wax to create Hi Rise Hive’s handmade spa collection, candles, and aromatherapy fragrances ~ with help from sunshine, flowers, rain, and buzz! |
